Context-Aware Business Processes

Abstract

The research challenge regarding "Context-Aware Business Processes" arises from the need of increasing flexibility during the design and enactment of business processes. The notion of flexibility has emerged as a pivotal research topic in Business Porcess Management over the last years. The need for flexibility stems from the observation that organizations often face continuous and unprecedented changes in their respective business environments. An increased Context-Awareness in BPM with provide higher levels of agility and the consideration of the drivers for process change can lead to better change mitigation strategies.
