Expected completion: April 2012
Abstract: The movement towards service orientation, on both business and technology sides, provides a unique opportunity for a stronger business and IT alignment. In order to achieve such an alignment, an approach to integrate emerging Service-oriented Architectures within a wider Enterprise Architecture has to be achieved. Such integration will facilitate better understanding and management of the various integration requirements between services and other
corporate artefacts.
This PhD research project studies a) the requirements of a sound integration of SOA into Enterprise Architectures, b) the extend to which current Enterprise Architectures explicitly or implicitly represent services in light of these requirements, c) how organisations actually integrate services into their company-specific Enterprise Architectures, and d) what further extensions are required to improve this integration. A paper derived from this research has been presented at CONFENIS2010 in Natal, Brazil, in August 2010.
